IDEA

To establish a space that is more than just a retail space. It is the foundation of what a Garment District could grow from. To offer Detroit its first independent design label that will contribute to the city’s redevelopment with the establishment of a garment district in the Downtown area. Historically, the area has seen Detroit’s finest shopping district, including J.L Hudson Building and the newly launched SOMERSET CITY LOFT Flagship store. This concept would emphasize fashion and apparel from its sample/product development, all the way through to its retail avenue. Establishing a Garment District in Detroit, would tribute its history as a City, and can help encourage the relocation and creation of other apparel‐based businesses.
